About the Project

Air is a concept magazine built around sneaker culture — covering the design, history, and cultural impact of footwear. The project required designing a full magazine layout from cover to interior spreads, with a theme and visual identity developed entirely from scratch.

I chose sneakers as my subject because of the rich visual material and the culture surrounding them — a world that sits at the intersection of sport, fashion, art, and identity. The name "Air" was chosen to nod to one of the most iconic sneaker lines in history while keeping the brand feeling open and editorial.

The design direction leans into a bold, modern aesthetic — clean layouts with strong typographic choices, high contrast imagery, and a layout system that gives the content room to breathe while still feeling dynamic and energetic. The goal was for Air to feel like a magazine that could sit alongside established titles in the fashion and culture space.
