About the Project
During my internship at the University of Akron Press, I designed a promotional poster to represent the Press and its mission as an independent academic publisher. The goal was to create a piece that captured the literary identity of the Press while feeling visually compelling enough to stand on its own as a designed object.
The poster needed to communicate the breadth and prestige of the UA Press catalog — a publisher known for poetry, literature, and scholarly work with a distinct voice in the academic publishing world. The design draws on editorial aesthetics, using typography and layout as the primary visual tools to create hierarchy and interest.
The final piece was designed for both print and digital use, functioning as a versatile promotional asset for the Press across events, displays, and online platforms.
